Invitation Etiquette

We found this wonderful article on YahooNews as reported by ABC News on July 24, 2013.  It shows how much has changed over the last decade in the way couples are putting their own personal touches into their weddings.
The key is to be yourself, be who you are and don’t be afraid to have fun!
There are a few traditional rules you will still need to follow in order for you to keep that “it’s a wedding” feel to your invitations and your wedding planner can advise you on those rules, but other than that it is totally up to you on how and what you want to say to your guests.
We hope you enjoy the article below:

A Chicago couple's wedding invitation went viral on Wednesday, briefly surpassing the royal baby in popularity.
"My phone really started blowing up after it got put on MSN," Katie Kerr, of Chicago, Ill., told ABC station WLS-TV. "It was even ahead of the royal baby."
She and her husband, Chris Sabino, made guests check off their reason for attending or not attending their wedding in a clever RSVP.
Guests who planned on attending their wedding could say they were coming because "Two words: Free. Booze," or "I'm in your wedding party, idiot. Wait, is this optional?"
And guests who expressed their regrets did so because "I'm lame. On a scale of one to ten, my lameness would be in the 9.5 to 9.8 range."
"We wanted to have fun with it," Kerr said.
Read text of the invitation below:

Yes! I will be attending because…

-Two words: Free. Booze.

-I’m in your wedding party, idiot. Wait, is this optional?

-This is my only chance to play golf at Medinah & I plan on sneaking off during the toasts to play a quick round.

-I would never dream of missing it! After all, knowing the Kerr/Sabino Family (circle one) this should be a night full of must-see fun/drama/ridiculous dancing (circle one)!

No. I won’t be attending because…

-I’m lame. On a scale of one to ten, my lameness would be in the 9.5 to 9.8 range.

-I’ll be watching the Cubs win the World Series

Edit: these options are meant to be circumstances that could actually happen.

-I will be visiting, um, Yemen. Yeah, Yemen. But it’s a secret trip. So if you ask anyone, they will have no clue what you’re talking about.

-I don’t know who you people are or how you got my address. Leave me alone! (Oh, and congrats on your upcoming nuptials.)

Ceremony Only Package

Announcing our New Ceremony only Package

For all of the Do It Yourself couples out there or those on a very tight budget we have created a Ceremony Only package.  We know how hard it is to plan an entire wedding and how stressful it can be.  The most common reason DYI brides come to us for help is that the biggest challenge for them is the Ceremony itself.
While the Officiant conducts the actual ceremony, they don't necessarily help everyone get down the aisle. They usually give a few guidelines or examples of how other couples have done it in the past then leave it up to you to come up with a game plan and timeline.  So that is why we created this package, we want you to be calm and relaxed on your wedding day so that you can focus on the important things like your vows.

This package includes:
  • One (1) Planning Session (approx 2 hours)(Ceremony planning only)
  • One (1) Professional Wedding Planner who will:
  • Conduct your Rehearsal (up to 2 hours)
  • Create a Time Line for your Pre-Ceremony and Ceremony for the Day of your wedding
  • Be at your Ceremony up to 5 hours to:
  1. Receive your Floral delivery
  2. Pass out Personal Floral to bridal party, parents and honored guests
  3. Help guest as they arrive as needed
  4. Make sure Bridal Party is lined up and ready to go
  5. Cue music/singers when to begin
  6. Cue Bridal Party members when they are to move into their positions and to start walking down the aisle
  7. Help bride with gown and veil as she moves into position to begin her walk down the aisle.
  8. Help guests move through receiving line as quickly as possible
  9. Help remove all decorations and personal belongings left by guests and load them into your designated vehicle to be delivered to your reception.
